About April
I have been a teacher for over 20 years starting in the Montessori school model and moving to college level language classes as well as middle and high school French and History classes. I have many years experience as both a French and Hebrew tutor. I have taught the subjects of French, History, Theatre, Speech, Debate, Hebrew, English and Civics.
I strive for my students to be successful in their personal goals which can translate to good grades, however I value comprehension and synthesis over grades as a measure of learning.

I have a Master's Degree in Education with a specialization in ESL and ELL. I use a variety of methods including SIOP and others to help English learners develop their verbal and written comprehension. I variety of other degrees such as French, History, Jewish Studies and Theatre which add to my repertoire as a teacher.
