About Jose
My name is Jose, I’m a guitarist from Portugal and have been playing for 20 years. I have accrued extensive experience playing and recording for both my bands and other artists across London. I studied music performance for 2 years In ICMP and I have a grade 8 in classical guitar. I've composed music for Astraeus Productions and have been the main songwriter/composer for my bands for over 10 years with countless gigs under my belt. It is my mission to not only become the best that I can be, but to also help you become the best and most confident player you can be. My speciality is hard rock and metal, but I enjoy and have played an eclectic array of genres in the pop and contemporary world. So whether your vibe is more metal or singer-songwriter, I can help you get to your ultimate guitar goals.

I cover everything from fretboard knowledge, scales, chords and lead work approaches, to alternate picking, legato, tapping, sweeping, right hand rhythm technique, fingerstyle and way more. I touch on music theory basics and help you learn the music you want to learn. For the electric guitarists, I guide you through your tone chasing journey and help you get the best out of your equipment. My lessons are also 7-string friendly ;) All ages welcome. Preferred at my home studio, but can teach you at your home (within a reasonable distance) or online.

Perfect! Jose is a fantastic teacher who has created a personalised session plan to suit my goals and style of playing. His explanations of concepts and techniques make them easy to understand and has helped improved my playing a lot in a short amount of time.
- Ben brings a great positive attitude into the lesson. He already shows great proficiency and strength in his downpicking. Most of the work needed will have to go towards alternate picking and left hand strength building for more complex rhythm and lead work. However, a quick learner and progress should come swiftly with daily practice.Jose's response :
