I like to be as flexible and as student centered as possible with my classes. I will present material and then give students the opportunity to read the content and address any questions they may have about it. I also encourage them to use their critical thinking skills by thinking between the lines. In other words, rather than basing their knowledge on the subject matter from what other authors have written about it, I want students to take in the information, reflect on it and come up with their own conclusions on the subject matter.
At the end of each session, I will ask students for feedback (what they liked, what they didn't like or what they would like to have more of in the future) and I will structure my lessons around their feedback in efforts to meet their needs and to keep them engaged.
