About Kim
I’ve been teaching pre-kindergarten and kindergarten for 8 of my 11 years teaching. I am old school, I believe students can do anything they determine to do. I challenge students to do their best, practice, and learn from mistakes, don’t fear them. We all have learning to do, we all get better with practice, and we all make mistakes so we may as well use them to figure out what we need to know! We don’t say “I can’t” in my classroom, but we definitely ask for help and encourage one another! Learning is an adventure and an advancement in independence!

I teach basic, kindergarten math with one-to-one counting, number identification, addition, and subtraction up to 10. I teach letter identification, and sounds, phonics, reading, word segmenting, blending, rhyming, writing, upper and lower case letters, basic sentence writing, phonemic spelling, sight words, and move on to imaginative writing. This year’s kindergarten class even wrote their own stories!
