About Carmen
I use 'student-to-student' language. I know the shortcuts, the common struggles, and how to explain concepts without the academic strain that often makes math confusing. I'm close enough in age where I can better relate to them, but still old enough to be mature and effective.

One-on-One, hands-on help." I Do, We do, You do" method! I demonstrate a problem. We work through a similar problem together. The student tackles one independently while I observe.
I will use tools like Desmos, Geogebra, or drawing diagrams to turn abstract formulas into visual concepts. Each lesson will consist of review, addressing vague struggle, a specific struggle, and an overview of the whole process. Occasional homework if I see fit, but it will not be often! I struggle with anxiety over school, and want to be there to help you and your child through it! I teach everything from elementary to Algebra I & II, Geometry, and Trigonometry. I understand how frustrating it feels when a concept doesn't click immediately, and I want to help it click!
