About Alex
I am currently a first year medical student at the University of New England (JMP), having completed one year previously of Biomedicine at the University of Melbourne. I sat the HSC in 2018 and achieved a Band 6 Biology. I've previously done some private tutoring in beginner's piano and music theory (not for examination purposes), and am looking to move into more academic areas.
As a teacher I believe that students learn best when they are engaged with subject material, and will look to provide an environment where they think progressively of their learning. I am patient and attentive, and believe that students' mistakes are opportunities for development rather than negative issues.

Students can expect a positive teaching environment where the priority is learning and improving skills. I'm looking to form strong foundations in subject areas and build on them, and will look to review and consolidate students' in-class teachings as well as set them on the front foot in regards to upcoming concepts. I will personalise lesson-plans based on the students needs and am willing to create/provide further material if they require practice or revision material. For more advanced/high-performing students, I am flexible in taking a more rigorous approach to their tuition for best results.
