About Jeff
My Background is Scientific research, teaching & Education.
I have been imparting knowledge for 25 years plus.
I have been a tutor for research students, a science teacher in schools.
Lectured & tutored at Tafe & various universities over the years, mainly as a sessional.
Primarily now I am an Osteopath & Health Educator, ie deal with minor orthopaedics & physical health.
Although out of date, I was a fitness instructor, My real passion is anatomy, physiology & human health!

Find the student's passion & enthusiasm. See if I can link it to my own enthusiasm, then try & link this to the subject material. I Really try to understand your psyche, the secret to learning anything is passion, dedication & enthusiasm, ie attitude. I honestly believe with just average intelligence or sometimes less than average & the right attitude almost any academic task can be completed. Sometimes it just takes a bit more time!
As much as possible keep the learning sessions positive, fun & interactive. Encouraging intelligent questions not necessarily the 'just the right answers'
Teaching is about listening & empathy, especially with students where learning does not come naturally. In the beginning I had difficulties which I over came. I had an amazing Maths & then Physics teacher, without their help, perhaps I would have always been academically barren? Often Learning has not come naturally to me, so I understand students who need to work at things or lack motivation. Overall I am still very excited about life & passionate about learning. I hope at least some of this rubs off on my students
