About Faaez
Hi, I’m Faaez! I’m a jazz trombonist, low brass musician, and bandleader passionate about helping students grow as confident and creative musicians.
My primary instrument is jazz trombone, and I also play euphonium and tuba. I am the founder and leader of my own band, Alstyne & The Flock, a jazz-rock group based in Texas. As a bandleader, I organize rehearsals, arrange music, perform regularly, and work with other musicians to develop both original music and creative covers. Running a band has given me a lot of real-world experience with improvisation, ensemble playing, leadership, and musicianship that I love sharing with students.
In addition to jazz performance, I have a strong classical background on euphonium and have earned First Division ratings at solo contests and placed in the top 20 at All-Region auditions in my area.
My teaching focuses on helping students develop:
Strong tone and slide technique
Jazz articulation and style
Improvisation and musical creativity
Practice habits that actually work
Confidence playing in jazz bands and ensembles
Whether you’re learning your first notes, preparing for auditions, or wanting to get into jazz improvisation, I’m excited to help you improve and enjoy the process of making music.
