I am a Java Software Engineer with 5+ years of professional experience in software development, and I enjoy helping students and beginners understand programming in a simple and practical way.
My teaching approach is focused on understanding rather than memorising. I first understand the student's current level and goals, then explain concepts step by step using simple examples. I encourage students to write code themselves, ask questions, and solve problems with guidance rather than simply giving them the answer.
For programming and Java, I can help with programming fundamentals, Java, object-oriented programming (OOP), problem-solving, basic data structures and algorithms, and preparation for programming interviews at a beginner or intermediate level.
A typical lesson is around 60 minutes. We usually spend some time reviewing the previous topic, learn a new concept, work through practical examples, and finish with exercises or problems for the student to attempt independently.
My professional experience as a software engineer allows me to connect programming concepts with real-world software development and explain why particular approaches are used in practice.
My lessons are suitable for beginners, school/college students, university students, and anyone starting their journey in programming. I am particularly happy to work with students who feel that programming is difficult and need a patient, structured approach to build confidence.
My goal is not just to help students complete a particular problem, but to help them develop the ability to think logically, write clean code, and solve problems independently.
