My tutoring style is very detailed, with the focus on 1 question at a time. I believe that practice makes perfect, so we will go in depth on every single question until we get the right solution. By the time that we finish our session, you’re going to be a lot more focused and knowledgeable on the questions and answers than you were before.
What sets me apart from other tutors is my experience, and how I’ve gotten opportunities to tutor every student at every level. I’ve tutored little kids all the way to current Ivy League students, and not a lot of tutors could say that.
My lesson plan revolves around what you’re looking for, such as what subject and how complex the topic is. But, the lesson plan is like this typically:
1. Introduce ourselves and talk.
2. Ask and answer questions.
3. Go in depth on the subject that I’m tutoringthe student on, what they’re trying to know and what they’re struggling with. This is where I analyze strengths and weaknesses, and where I plan improvement and growth for the student.
4. Come up with solutions for the student’s problems, and see how we can fix the issues so they don’t come up next time.
5. Analyze the work again, and see what has changed/improved after I’ve critiqued their work and suggested changes. We will do a full review of the work that we’ve done and break it down for better understanding.
6. Answer more questions that the student may have, and talk about the next steps.
7. We talk for a bit more to build a connection between us, then the session ends.
The main qualify in my tutoring that sets me apart from others is how my student and I aren’t only just student and teacher, but we are friends. I’m a friend that’s helping you do your best and will support you all along the journey!
