About Maurizio
I am an Italian Language teacher and a professional Content Developer/Writer for language-learning e-platforms. My several years of experience in this field allowed me to write Italian courses and books for students of all levels from all over the world. Teaching is one of my passions: since my internship for a well-known language-learning company based in Scotland in 2017, I have never stopped teaching or tutoring students who are passionate about Italian. My professional experience as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Guelph, Canada in 2019 boosted my skills as a tutor, and in 2020 I started working for a charity based in Glasgow, Scotland to run classes online and in-person. I have also helped several private students to improve their language skills by providing individual classes. I know the challenges of learning a new language: I have been learning languages all my life. I completed my BA (Hons) in French, Journalism and Creative Writing in 2018, and my MA in Comparative Literature in 2020. I understand how difficult understanding the structures of a foreign language can be, but thanks to my teachers and to what I learned in my career I can finally consider myself a fluent speaker of four languages. My teaching method is heavily based on conversation and grammar exercises. I try to make my classes as relaxed and informal as possible to make the students feel comfortable about practising a foreign language. I use videos and songs for listening comprehension, and I ask my students to write small texts to practise written expression. I am flexible and I can adapt my classes according to the student’s needs and interests.

Maurizio is more than a conventional teacher. He is concerned with the details that make a difference in student learning. This is so important for me!!
