About Dara
I’m an Irish secondary school teacher from Galway in the west of Ireland. I’ve taught Irish in secondary school (high school) in Ireland for 4 years and also in summer courses for 5 years. Irish was my first language, we spoke it before English in school, and I’m incredibly passionate about the language and would love to pass that love on. I moved to Sydney in November 2025.

My teaching style is supportive, structured, and tailored to each student’s needs. I can focus on conversational Irish, a refresh of the basics or complete beginners.Suitable for anyone wanting to seamlessly transition into having clear and accurate spoken and written Irish. Can prepare students who will be making the transition to the Irish education system. I have 5 years experience teaching Irish outside of the classroom to students attending summer courses in Connemara in the west of Ireland, which is where I was born and raised as Irish as my first language.
