About David
I have worked for 40+ years tutoring privately and with tutoring firms including Sylvan, Huntington, Varsity Tutors, and Grade Potential while holding down full-time jobs in professions working with Fortune 500 companies. I taught math in several ISD HSs and have been tutoring for a college for 10 years. I hold a lifetime Texas teaching certificate and the CRLD advanced international tutoring certificate.

I do not just teach students how to work a problem. I try to impart the concepts behind problems so that between sessions tutee can solve problems that may differ from the examples ---on their own by using the concepts. I focus on definitions, rules, and procedures. Before sessions I expect the student to have tried to work the problems and show me their work so we can handle specific issues the tutee has rather than waste time on things they already understand. I also have some techniques to help them not make the same mistakes again. A successful tutor works himself out of a job because the tutee becomes self-sufficient
