About Valerie
Hi! My name is Valerie, and I am an International Baccalaureate student in Grade 11. I have already completed Grade 12 Advanced Functions (MHF4U2) with a final 99% grade. After one year of volunteering my math tutoring services at my school in Ottawa, I wish to expand my help to the greater community. I am very passionate about my work, and it is my pleasure to support students on their way to success!

As a high school student, my recent experience with Ontario math courses is a special asset. I am very familiar with the latest changes to the curriculum, and I can teach from past years' experience. I have my math notes available for my students. In a typical online class, I love to keep my students engaged by using the online whiteboard Conceptboard. Here, I will post practice questions that accompany my slideshow lesson. I teach using my iPad and stylus to write quickly and neatly. My class is very interactive, so I encourage my students to be vocal about any misunderstandings that they may have. After the tutoring sessions, I provide practice problems for extra enrichment. In general, I teach grades 9-12, currently excluding MCV4U.
