About Rie
Hi! My name is Annemarie! I am a student at Liberty University pursuing a bachelor's in interdisciplinary studies with a minor in TESL. Having grown up homeschooled, I have long been passionate about teaching. During my early education, I tutored students of diverse ages across a variety of subjects, providing me with valuable experience that has prepared me for a career in education. I also have experience volunteering in ESL classes and am currently completing my TESL internship at a private Christian high school.

Young students today have diminishing attention spans, and I believe teaching should cater to that. Long lectures are counterproductive and often lose focus, which is why my lessons are designed to stay short and engaging. As a former homeschooler, I am accustomed to prioritizing clear, thorough explanations of key concepts while eliminating redundant or nonessential material. Each session is shaped around the student’s level, goals, and pace to enhance student motivation and learning outcomes.
A typical session follows the formal:
- 5 min introduction
- Review previous lesson
- Introduce new vocabulary and/or grammar concept
- Guided practice activities
- Interactive/conversational practice
- Homework assigned
- Questions
Note: All lessons are 30 minutes
