About David
I am a really kind and caring tutor. Having been a tutor and tutee I've learnt some of the best ways to interact with students. I love to read as I'm constantly trying to learn more and take in knowledge. I have over 105+ hours of tutoring experience. As a student ambassador of the Russell Group University for just under two years now I have been working with, teaching and mentoring prospective students. I am a good communicator and have over 6 years of public speaking. This has helped me be able to communicate my ideas, thoughts in a clear, concise and engaging manner. As Head Boy at my school I worked constantly with the younger years teaching them how to play the piano, providing singing lessons and dealing with their concerns. I am a passionate tutor dedicated to supporting the students I teach. I recognise that not every student is the same and all have different needs and learning skills. I assess their level and then build them up from there. I create a safe (virtual) space so the student never feels intimidated or scared to make mistakes and fail. Whilst I believe in making my students feel comfortable and supported I still will push them outside their comfort zone. I will challenge them to aim higher, go that little further in their work and responses. I was David's Lecturer and Personal Advisor during his undergraduate degree-level studies. David's use of spoken and written English was of an extremely high standard and he is a very effective writer and communicator. He is reliable, honest, personable and kind, all qualities that make him a very good teacher and tutor.
As a Queen Mary student and ambassador, he is very organised and hardworking. He is able to make informed decisions, take accountability for those decisions and is highly skilled at problem solving and has excellent attention to detail.
I have observed David to have a strong work ethic, be flexible and work well both in a team and as an individual. He has strong communication, both verbal and written, as well as good leadership skills which have grown and developed from his work as a Student Ambassador.
David is fantastic with young people and able to inspire them through his interactions and delivery of content. He is a very capable person and I am sure he will be a great asset to any organisation. I did not detect any weaknesses during his time with us or in his ability to do his job.
David has always demonstrated a high level of maturity and integrity in all his interactions both with staff and parents/carers of students. He is able to build good working relationships and shows great responsibility in everything he does. He understands her target audience and is able to effectively manage key stakeholders including senior staff.
He delivered workshops designed to encourage young people from widening participation backgrounds to aspire to go to university such as report writing, delivering presentations, personal statement writing and preparing for employment.
David is someone who is able to create engaging content and deliver interactive sessions which captures the imagination and attention of those he is teaching. His ability to understand and identify the needs of his audience and students marks him out as an excellent teacher who possesses the required skills to succeed in helping students fulfil their potential.
His positive and enthusiastic attitude together with a professional approach to his work allows me to easily recommend him for any future teaching endeavors.View more recommendations
