About Stan
Hi, I’m Stan! I am a professional multidisciplinary Engineer & Physicist with my own consulting business, and I have a passion for academia and teaching! I transform "difficult" subjects into very manageable concepts that anyone can grasp. Leveraging my diverse background in science, I provide students with a unique perspective that connects classroom-type problems to the real world in a meaningful way. After spending 12+ years as a professional electrical engineer & physicist, I have started my own consulting business from home. While I have found great success in industry, I have discovered that my true passion is not from the designs and projects I complete, but from the moments I spend mentoring others and teaching fundamental principles as well as breaking down complex ideas into simple objects. I find great joy and fulfillment spending my time teaching meaningful sessions where I can utilize my diverse knowledge and skillsets to help others thrive. I look forward to bringing that level of energy to the next student that wishes to learn. My background in engineering and physics gives me a unique perspective on the education curriculum, from middle-to-high school to advanced college classes. I don’t just see formulas on a page – I see the world. When I teach physics, for example, I do not speak mechanically about mathematical formals and how to solve them, I talk about the electromagnetic waves involved with cellphone reception or the thermodynamics of a car engine and how it works. My goal is to transform the student experience from one of stagnant “matter of fact” memorization to one of active inquiry and true understanding. I want to show a student struggling with algebra or trigonometry exactly how those formulas allow a GPS to locate their phone, or how and why calculus is the very basis behind the technology that they use and rely on every day. In my profession, I am often the bridge between the technical team and ‘non-technical’ stakeholders. I learned how to adapt my communication style to ensure clarity, patience, and engagement—skills that are vital when working with a student who feels apprehensive about math. I believe that every student can master any STEM subject if they are given a narrative they care about and can relate to in real-life situations. Biography: I hold advanced degrees in electrical engineering and physics, as well as several medical certifications. I started my professional career in electronics design well over a decade ago and have worked as a senior design engineer in the power electronics, manufacturing, aerospace, and medical industries. I have worked in the medical imaging industry for 5 years as a senior electrical design engineer & physicist – designing state-of-the-art medical CAT (computed axial tomography) scan imaging systems and fluoroscopic imaging generators for real-time image guided surgery. I am a member of the IEEE, Golden Key International Honor Society, Order of the Engineer, ResearchGate, International Honor Society for Professionals in Technology, and the author of more than a dozen research papers and articles. I am also a certified in Emergency First Response and Emergency Care by the American College of Emergency Physicians. My life-long ambition is to advance the broad field of applied physics and engineering – with the goal of using all knowledge and acquired wisdom to benefit humanity. Helping other people and sharing my knowledge and skills makes me happy. I live in Long Island, NY with my wife and I enjoy playing my guitar, cooking, hiking, and running. I currently run my own business as a Sr. consultant (multidisciplinary engineering and physics), where I enjoy advanced research, analysis, problem-solving, and working on unique custom engineering designs – specifically medical devices to help people.

I teach STEM subjects to anyone that is willing to learn! (any grade or skill level, middle school up to undergraduate college)
My tutoring style is highly interactive, utilizing visual modeling, real-world case studies, and free online digital tools like Wolfram, Mathlets and Desmos to make abstract concepts feel tangible.
I offer students a level of engagement and a depth of knowledge that a textbook or traditional teacher simply cannot provide. I transform the frustration of "I'm not a math person" or “I just don’t get it” into the excitement of "I am a problem solver!" and “yes, I can do it!”
My teaching philosophy centers on fundamental principles – ensuring new students don't just memorize formulas but rather develop an intuitive understanding of the subject matter. I mentor students by building strong problem-solving confidence through engaging exercises, interactive lessons, visualizations, and universal step-by-step approaches to complex problems. If you join me on a learning adventure you will realize your full potential, and your grades will speak for themselves!
What Makes My Sessions Different?
I don’t just tackle the subject matter – I build systems for organization and task-switching that are tailored uniquely to the individual. Whether you prefer direct instructions, written recaps, or visual workflows, I adapt to your unique processing/learning style.
My class sessions are a ‘zero-judgment’ zone, and I provide (please inquire) accessible sessions tailored for neurodivergent students with learning disabilities or special behavioral needs. Whether you struggle with executive dysfunction, sensory overwhelm, anxiety, or just need a different way of someone explaining complex ideas, I have your back! We will learn at your own pace – no rush, no pressure, no judgement – only understanding and supportive guidance at every step. Join me for a study session and let’s learn together!
