About Piero

Hello! I'm Piero. Although I have an Italian name I am British and am a native speaker. I was born in 1975 in Northampton in the UK, and currently live there. I enjoy reading, art, travel, and many other things! Originally I trained and worked as an architect for almost 15 years, but in 2018 I moved to Berlin and decided to start teaching English privately. I had studied English literature at school, and worked for some years as a proofreader whilst studying, and use that experience in teaching. I have helped many children and adults from countries including Germany, Poland, Italy, Korea, Russia, Turkey and Spain to improve their written and spoken English.

About the lesson

I aim to provide a safe and enjoyable space in which you can relax, make mistakes without embarrassment, and thoroughly test your knowledge of spoken and written English - all with the benefit of my expert ear and eye. As the weeks progress and you continue to put in just a small amount of effort, you will notice your understanding, vocabulary, accent and your confidence improving! We learn languages best through the experience of talking and reading, especially about subjects we care about, so I like to tailor the lessons to each student's interests and needs. We can discuss things that interest you, read books or other written materials together, as well as studying grammar if you wish. If you have specific requirements - for example, if you are studying for a test - just let me know.
