About Alexandra
Hello! My name is Alex, I live in London with my husband and children. I am passionate about supporting young people to achieve their potential. I have a BSc in Biology & MSc in Ecology from Imperial College London and now work in sustainability consultancy. At school, I achieved 11 A* GCSEs and 4 A* A levels, so I know what it takes to succeed across subjects. I believe everyone has the potential to achieve well - getting the right guidance to get there is key. Alongside paid work I volunteer delivering climate workshops in primary schools and developing nature-based community regeneration projects.

My lessons are tailored for GCSE and KS3 students of all abilities, aged 11–16. My tutoring style is empathetic, pragmatic and supportive. I always meet students at their level and work with them to build confidence. I enjoy breaking down complex or challenging topics into clear, simple steps, making them manageable and interesting. I believe everyone has the ability to succeed, and my role is to guide you towards realising your full potential. I am familiar with the curriculum and requirements of AQA, Edexcel and OCR, and have been tutoring informally for many years. Alongside subject knowledge, I also help students develop strong exam technique, revision strategies and problem-solving skills. My lessons are typically 60 minutes and start with a quick recap of previous work to reinforce understanding. We then move on to targeted teaching of one or two key topics, using worked examples, practice questions and discussion to deepen knowledge. I encourage students to try problems themselves, providing support where needed, and we finish with a short review of what has been learned plus a plan for the next session.
