This is a foundational three-step approach to help students internalize mathematical concepts:
Concrete: Using physical manipulatives to model a problem.
Representational (Pictorial): Drawing pictures, tallies, or diagrams to represent the concrete objects.
Abstract: Using numerical symbols, formulas, and equations to represent the math.
