About Rene
I am Rene Manjo, a Chemistry/Physics teacher by profession. I am from Cameroon. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, a Secondary School teaher Diploma in Chemistry, and a Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering. In Cameroon, I was a government Chemistry and Physics teacher. My teacher's license was issued by the Cameroon ministry of Secondary Education. I worked for the Camerron government for five years as a Chemistry/Physics teacher. Thereafter, I went to China where I taught the Cambridge IGCSE Chemistry and Physics, and the American Regular and AP Chemistry. I have an incredible knowledge in Chemistry and Physics. In China, my International School did not have relevant Chemistry and Physics books to prepare students for their IGCSE examinations. When I was hired, with the permission of my principal, I wrote four Chemistry course books for grades 6 to 10. And I provided my students with my own Physics notes. These made my students who had lost hopes to have good grade in their Cambridge IGCSE examinations.

I usually teach from known to unknown, simple to complex, and concrete to abstract. In the beginning of my lessons, I usually verify if students can remember some key objectives of our previous lesson(s) so that I will know if revision is necessary or, in very rare cases, if I need to re-teach the lesson. This may be in the form of oral questions and answers. Thereafter, I will write on the board the subject of the day and state clearly, the objectives of the lesson. Depending on the topic, students may have to think and state how that lesson is related to our everyday lives. During my lessons, it is my habit to pose questions first to the known slow learners before the first learners. This avoids a situation in which the slow learns just simply answer along, giving a wrong impression that they too have understood the concept. At the end of my lesson, I verify that all my objectives were attained. This may be in the form of work sheets, exit passes, oral questions, or having students solve problems on the board, depending on the topic and school regulations. My lessons are for grades 6 to 12 students.
