About Mihir
Hi, I'm Mihir.
I know first-hand that academic success is about far more than natural talent. Throughout my own education, I learnt that the best teachers are not simply experts in their subject—they are people who can explain difficult ideas clearly, build confidence, and make learning enjoyable.
That is what I aim to do with every student.
I have always enjoyed mathematics, statistics, and economics because they teach a powerful way of thinking: how to analyse problems logically, make sense of complex information, and arrive at clear conclusions. These are skills that extend far beyond examinations and remain valuable throughout life.
I began tutoring because I genuinely enjoy helping others understand concepts that once seemed confusing or intimidating. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a student go from saying "I don't get this at all" to solving problems independently and confidently.
My goal is not only to improve grades, but also to help students develop confidence in their abilities. I create a supportive and patient learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and challenging themselves without fear of judgement.
Whether a student is aiming to pass an important exam, achieve top grades, or simply build stronger foundations in Mathematics, Statistics, or Economics, I am committed to helping them reach their goals.
Learning should not feel stressful or overwhelming. With the right guidance, structure, and encouragement, every student can make significant progress!!!

My approach to tutoring is centred around building genuine understanding, confidence, and independent problem-solving skills. Too often, students are taught to memorise methods without understanding why they work. I focus on helping students grasp the underlying concepts first, before reinforcing them through exam-style practice and technique.
For Mathematics and Statistics, I break complex topics into simple, logical steps and use worked examples to develop intuition before progressing to more challenging questions. For Economics, I emphasise both conceptual understanding and examination skills, helping students develop strong analytical reasoning and structured answers that meet examiner expectations.
A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, although longer sessions can be arranged for intensive exam preparation.
Lessons are tailored to the individual student's needs and usually follow a structured format:
1. Review of previous material and any questions
2. Introduction or explanation of new concepts
3. Guided examples and problem-solving
4. Independent practice with feedback
5. Summary of key takeaways and areas for further improvement
