About Matt
I am currently studying for a Master's in Modern History at the University of Kent. I have an undergraduate degree in politics from the University of Sheffield, and spent two years working in the Civil Service. I have both a practical and theoretical understanding of politics and contemporary affairs. I am new to tutoring, but have worked with children on a number of occasions before in volunteer roles, and hope to work in educational roles in future.

I firmly believe in a mixed teaching methodology, blending visual, written and oral elements to suit the needs of the pupils. I am happy teaching using newer technology where appropriate to facilitate interactive activities and engagement with digital materials, but still appreciate and acknowledge the need to be able to work by hand as well, so look to incorporate both styles into my lessons where appropriate. I am most familiar teaching older children or young adults (GCSE upwards), but am capable and happy to adapt to younger audiences.
