About Tom
Dear all,
Thank you very much for looking at my profile. I am a History graduate with a 2:1 from Newcastle University, and previously attended Eton college where I took Economics and Geography as my other A Levels.
Throughout my education I have studied a wide variety of historical time periods, so am happy to get stuck into whatever subjects need attention. In addition, since graduating I have taken additional financial exams (CFA Level 1) which stands me in good stead to help out with economics at A Level.
My teaching style will put a strong focus on exam technique as well as the required content, as I believe it is an often overlooked aspect of learning. My prior teaching experience is largely through my own Cricket/tennis coaching business that I have run for several years, and I plan on bringing the skills I have learnt into the academic environment.

Tom has coached both my sons over several summers in both cricket and tennis, working comfortably with them from primary ages right through to teens. Both boys not only really enjoyed Tom's tuition in both sports but also showed marked improvements in their play and technique.
Tom is brilliant with children and can really get the best out of them -he knows how to motivate with fun and games but keeps a track on discipline and attention at the same time. He's very approachable and easy to talk to. My children loved being coached by him.
