About Kawal
History and Politics teacher and tutor.
I am currently a History and Politics teacher at a school in West London. I specialise in Edexcel for GCSE History and A-Level Politics. I teach OCR for A-Level History. As an Edexcel examiner, I have a unique perspective and advantage when teaching exam content. For exam-specific tuition, the best way to learn is through past paper questions. I use past papers and exam-style questions as the starting point when teachig and use the blurting method to steer the direction of learning.
Having graduated from and holding qualifications from both King's College London and UCL, I am able to support tutees with university applications to top universities. I am also able to offer support with general essay writing to help support sixth form pupils prepare for the work expected of them at university level.
I have taught in different parts of the world, including Peru, Colombia, Ghana and India which has equipped to work with pupils from all walks of life and with varying abilities. I have tutored pupils in the countries aforementioned online for 3 years and have also taught online school during lockdown. I therefore am very confident and creative using Teams or Zoom to conduct lessons.
I don't believe in 'one size fits all' so each lesson I teach is specifically designed and curated to my tutee's needs and ability. I will ask you prior to your sessions, what it is you are looking for and each lesson will cater to that. If you are looking for long-term tutoring, I will create an outline of what the next five, or ten lessons will cover. Each lesson will start with a recap of the previous lesson or content in the form of a quiz or mini activity to really consolidate the knowlegde. We then move onto checking any homework that was set - if that applies - and then we will move onto new knowledge.
