About Emma
As I am currently in highschool, I have the unique perspective of an active student and the struggles that it entails. I am able to connect with tutees on this level and really bring a students perspective. I have previously tutored middle schoolers with the Peninsula Bridge Tutoring Program and with the additional tutoring of other students at my school. I know that every student has a different way of learning and through this realization I always adapt my lesson plans and techniques to fit each two tutees needs. I always try to provide multiple options to contact me and really try to set a schedule that works for both parties, including online tutoring and the possibility of in-person tutoring.

A typical tutoring session begins with a mental health and day check in. Alongside helping the student with their academics, I also prioritize their mental health and I want to make sure they are feelings their best. I will then ask if they have any homework in particular that they want to go over or need help with. After their homework we will either study for any tests or subjects they are feeling less confident in. Or begin learning some additional material and tips that could assist them during school hours. I do offer some worksheets as extra practice if the student asks. Since I am still in high-school, I prefer to tutor between k-8. In the past I mainly interacted with middle schoolers. I believe still being in high-school gives me an active perspective of a student and the struggles it entails, allowing me to grow deeper bonds with my tutees. I have the option to tutor in person but I also offer online tutoring because it is so accessible and easy.
