About Fern
I am a dedicated French tutor with 19 years of experience teaching High School and College students. Over the years, I have successfully taught around 150–200 students and helped them grow in confidence and language ability.
My goal is to make French learning simple, practical, and enjoyable. My teaching philosophy is based on clear understanding and steady progress. I believe students learn best when lessons are explained in an easy way and practiced regularly. I focus on grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and speaking skills in every lesson. I also use real-life examples so students can understand how French is used in daily situations.
I adjust my teaching style according to each student’s level and learning pace. I encourage students to ask questions and practice without fear of mistakes. Regular feedback helps students understand their strengths and improve step by step. One of my key achievements is helping students improve exam scores and spoken French confidence.
Many students who started with limited knowledge have developed strong communication skills. I aim to create a friendly and supportive learning environment where students feel motivated to learn French.

My teaching approach for French is practical, flexible, and focused on real-life communication. I believe students learn better when French is connected to daily life. I use real-life examples, case studies, and common conversations such as travel, education, and workplace situations to help students understand and use the language naturally.
Flexibility is an important part of my teaching style. Every student has a different learning pace and goal, so I adjust lesson plans to suit individual needs. I take time to revise difficult topics and provide extra practice to ensure students feel confident before moving ahead.
Collaboration makes learning more effective and enjoyable. I encourage students to actively participate in discussions, role-plays, and speaking activities. This helps improve pronunciation, listening skills, and confidence in speaking French.
Compassion guides my teaching philosophy. I understand that learning a new language can feel challenging, so I remain patient and encouraging. I create a safe and friendly environment where mistakes are welcomed as part of learning.
Along with French, I also teach related subjects such as grammar fundamentals, vocabulary building, pronunciation practice, communication skills, French culture awareness, reading comprehension, and basic writing skills. This complete approach helps students gain strong and practical language skills.
