About Tavia
I have a BA in English and American Literature, a PGCE (this means I am a qualified teacher), and an MA in Applied Linguistics. Most of my thirty years as a teacher has been in the post-16 sector, so I am very experienced in preparing people for exams.

I adapt my approach to the individual student. As a highly qualified and very experienced teacher I can call on a wide range of techniques and depth of knowledge to help young people find the best way to reach their potential. Whether you need a quick burst of help with planning essays or understanding a particular text, or need longer-term support with preparing for exams, I can help. I specialise in working with students who are anxious or lacking in confidence, and enjoy helping the individual to find his or her voice. Lessons are usually 60 or 90 minutes. I can offer English Language and Literature at GCSE and A level. I have experience with most exam boards, and have been an exam marker.
