I know that children make the greatest progress when they feel understood, supported and successful. I take time to get to know each student as an individual so that lessons can be tailored to their strengths, interests and learning needs.
My sessions combine structured, evidence-based teaching with engaging activities designed to build confidence as well as skills. I aim to create a calm, encouraging environment where learners feel comfortable taking risks, asking questions and recognising their own progress. Students are welcomed with good humour, attentiveness and open communication.
I meet learners where they are, adapting my teaching to respond to their individual needs and immediate priorities. While lessons are carefully planned, I remain flexible and can adjust the focus where necessary. My extensive knowledge of exam specifications also allows me to respond confidently to emerging areas of need and provide targeted support.
Alongside improving attainment and examination outcomes, I encourage students to think critically, engage deeply with texts and develop an appreciation of literature and language use; skills which support both academic success and lifelong learning.
