About Silvia
I am a passionate and friendly teacher with 35 years full time teaching experience in Chemistry, at high school level in Romania and 9 years casual teacher and tutoring practice in Australia. I have had excellent results tutoring students for VCE (Box Hill HS, Mullum Mullum College, St Kevin’s College, Caulfield Grammar) and GAMSAT (Deakin University, Monash University and The University of Melbourne). My teaching philosophy is student centered using interactive methods with the purpose of guiding students interested in Chemistry to gain the necessary skills to accomplish their academic goals. The length of the lesson can be flexible, depending on student’s needs varying from 30 min to 2 hours.

I have 35 years full time teaching experience in Chemistry, at high school level in Romania and 9 years casual teacher and tutoring practice in Australia (VCE and GAMSAT). My teaching philosophy is student centered using interactive methods with the purpose of guiding students interested in Chemistry to gain the necessary skills to accomplish their academic goals. The length of the lesson can be flexible, depending on student’s needs varying from 30 min to 2 hours. My knowledge and experience will assist the students in achieving learning for understanding, demonstrated in their ability to apply the learnt concepts in new contexts. I strongly believe that a passionate and friendly tutor who knows the key references is the best guide for student’s journey on their learning path. The ideal tutor does not deliver the concepts, but rather acts as a facilitator for the students to discover and gain their knowledge and skills.
