About Madison
I have been tutoring a current 5th grader for two years now, on all subjects with a focus in mathematics. This includes homework help and test review, as well as deepening understanding of a topic. I am good with kids and young adults, and I like to joke with my students when it is appropriate. However, I aim to keep my students on track until I feel that they fully grasp the topic. I am also open to speaking with parents before the tutoring session to settle any anxieties.

I expect my students to have a base knowledge of the subject, so I usually start lessons by asking what they know off the top of their head. From there, I know what areas to focus on, and what is mostly review. I prefer to teach students at an 8 grade level or lower.

Details
If any textbooks are required, parents must either send me a link to a FREE copy of the book, or pay for my edition of the book. If $20 is not feasible for you, email me and we can work out a rate that works for you. Please email me in advance if cancelling a scheduled tutoring session, but I do not charge for cancellation. I am open to a call with the student and their parents before the first session - or at any time during my employment - to meet and discuss issues with no charge. Both parents and students are free to email me anytime but understand that I also have school and obligations. I ask for grace if I cancel a session as well.
