About Madeline
Hello! My name is Madeline and I am a high school senior that loves math and would like to use that passion to help out other students in need! I have been taking accelerated math my entire life (I started high-school-level Algebra by 6th grade was taking Calculus I and Calculus II by my sophomore year), so I am very comfortable with mathematical concepts. I am on the Mathlete team at my high school, and will be going into engineering in college.
I also have experience tutoring since I have helped tutor elementary-schoolers with Spanish homework before.

My approach to teaching is very interactive and engaging so that the student is able to maintain focus. This includes implementation of the Socratic method (question-based learning) and plenty of practice problems mixed into the teaching.
My typical hour-long lesson plan is broken into 3 parts. The first ten minutes are spent reviewing last session's material and allowing the student to ask any remaining questions on it. The next 45 are spent teaching and practicing the new material. Teaching and practicing are integrated, making the learning process very interactive for the student. The last five minutes are spent discussing the plan for next week's material. This can either consists of the student asking to cover something specific or me explaining what I have planned for the student next session.
Some unique traits I have to offer is that I am still in school, therefore I have a better understanding of how students want/need to be treated to learn. I also enjoy incorporating students' interests into their learning to make it more engaging.
I comfortably teach math from the elementary school level up until Precalculus.
