About Olivia
As someone who has had peers that have gone through the education system with less than satisfactory results, the whole goal of tutoring should be to create a safe environment for the student to learn, without the pressure and embarrassment that may come from a normal classroom setting. I intend to provide that and much more for students so that they will eventually have no need for a tutor at all! I teach through thorough explanations and examples so that students can have something to look back on when attempting problems on their own. I will point out their problem areas and help them get to the root of why they aren’t understanding or grasping a specific concept.

My lessons are personalized and geared toward the specific student that I’m working with. I’ll help the student first with the explanation and reasoning of the concept that they are having trouble with before breaking into some examples. I will then work with them together on a few practice problems and answer any questions or solve any issues they may be having before having them try to work independently.
