Kristy has been an influential mentor in my writing journey. As my high school English teacher, she went above and beyond guiding my interests in English, from fostering meaningful discussions in class, to mentoring the creative arts club, to workshopping and providing feedback on many essays for college & summer program applications. Throughout our interactions she has been patient, insightful, and most importantly, invested in fostering my growth as a writer and a student. Also, with her help on my college essays, I eventually got into Stanford, Yale, Princeton, and Columbia. Overall, she is an incredible teacher and person, and I still keep in touch with her to this day.
