About Rhys
Once a professional rugby player, then sports agent and consultant, I've returned to university to complete degrees in law and philosophy, with a view to pursue a PhD in the space of policy and ethics regarding existential risk. I read a lot (classics, philosophy, ethics, law, politics, policy and more) and enjoy breaking down that which I have read. I look forward to doing this and more with my students.

As a school student, I wish my teachers took the time to understand me a little better. I was the "sports guy" and wasn't expected to achieve much academically. I didn't really know until later in life that I was intelligent and committed enough to complete two difficult degrees and pursue a PhD. Having had two careers prior to returning to university, I offer something different in terms of professional skills and experience. I'll endeavour to understand my students first and foremost because everyone is different and by teaching narrowly, we can limit an individual’s ability to reach their potential. Perhaps a student is a visual learner or consumes content better via text rather than through listening. Let's find out.
