About Anita
I’m a high school senior who grew up in Italy and moved to Canada at 12 years old. Experiencing the challenges of a language barrier firsthand was not easy, but it taught me the value of patience, consistency, and confidence when learning a new language. Five years later, I’m proud to say that I speak English as comfortably as my mother tongue. This year, I also committed to the French immersion stream for my program at the University of Ottawa, meaning I’m once again experiencing the journey of learning a new language myself. Languages have brought me meaningful friendships, memorable experiences, and new opportunities, which inspired me to become a language tutor and help others experience the same.

My teaching approach is personalized and student-focused. I adapt my lessons to each student’s level, goals, and learning style, using clear explanations, practical examples, and guided practice to build confidence and understanding. As a language learner myself (I’m fluent in English and recently passed my B1 French exam), I understand the challenges of developing the skills and confidence needed to learn a new language. A typical lesson includes reviewing previous topics, introducing new concepts, and practicing them together in a supportive way. My goal is to create a welcoming learning environment where anyone, regardless of age or skill level, feels comfortable improving. I also offer a free 1-hour trial lesson so you can see if my teaching style is the right fit for you.
