About Rosie
Hello :) My name is Rosie and I'm a second year studying at the Uni of Exeter.
I have been doing some form of teaching for 4 years now and something good has come from every session. Whether that be a confidence boost, mastering a technique, or finally grasping a concept: I love being a part of the process and see students progress.
I am happy for the student/parent to meet me first to ensure I am the right tutor, although I can be very flexible with hours and will, of course, take the student's learning preferences/needs into account.
I am quite outgoing as a person and will bring enthusiasm into lessons, in the hope students will follow through with the subject and enjoy it as much as I do.

My aim is- first and foremost- that students enjoy learning. I'll deliver lessons that are engaging, interactive, and based on individual understanding and experience.
A typical maths lesson might consist of checking the student's grasp of a topic and carefully explaining any confusing parts in a way tailored to them. Then we would move onto some guided practice questions with a chance to have a go independently and have the freedom to ask any questions at all.
Music lessons would cover all aspects of both theory and practical. From my own thirteen years of playing, I know the ways I best learnt and tips that helped me: I will share as much of this beneficial knowledge as I can with the student. I believe playing an instrument can be so rewarding and I'd love for more people to learn!
My tutoring experience involves: helping a group of lower secondary school Maths students that were struggling with concepts on homework assignments; some intensive 1-on-1 GCSE exam prep sessions; 4 years of swim teaching students of all ages; and 1 year of beginner 1-on-1 piano teaching.
Lessons might vary in length from 30 mins to 1.5 hours depending on the subject, stage of learning, and how much support the student requires at the time.
