About Coen
As an experienced tutor, I really enjoy working with students. Tutoring is fun and also rewarding for myself and the student when progress is made. I will use the knowledge I have and do everything I can to assist in learning. I am an ambitious person studying Chemistry in University, and know the feeling of struggle and success. We all want to succeed, and I want to help people achieve that. Education through hard work brings knowledge. Knowledge can help pursue dreams to sustain a great future, and I am passionate in helping students achieve that.

As an experienced tutor, it is in my nature to assist struggling students. Early on in my grade school I was behind and decided to get a tutor, and it helped me significantly. That being said, I have also been on the other side of it as-well. The ability to use the knowledge I have now to assist other students motivates me to do my best as I was in the same situation. I am very personable and patient, and do my best to use multiple different explanations and examples when solving problems. I often guide the student to the answer by using socratic questioning. This allows the student to use their problem solving skills from a previously learned concept to work through a question and attempt to arrive at an answer. My typical lesson plan will begin with a 5 min chat about what the student is learning and what they understand/struggle with. I mostly let the student decide what they want to do, and if I notice they understand the concept, then we will move to a different one. I have experience tutoring grades 1-12 and mostly first year university courses. I look forward to helping and meeting many students!
