About Carmela
I am an enthusiastic graduate student looking to help others with their reading and writing skills. I believe everyone has the ability to be a good writer and do not practice traditional methods of teaching the subject. The English subject is a passion of mine that I did not pursue in my profession, but I believe it's a fundamental part of our everyday lives.

Depending on the topic, I will vary my teaching strategies. The most important thing when it comes to educating young children in reading comprehension, for example, is engagement. Many children are easily bored by traditional reading practices. It's my mission to make the experience feel like something to look forward to, rather than a chore.
Alternatively, for older children/teens, my approach to teaching would emphasize the importance of critical writing skills in college and the working world. I would show them how to write an essay properly, no matter its length, and take care to teach them proper grammar and punctuation.
I also teach people of all ages how to properly format a resume.
