Sound Isolation:
Practice isolating the new sound at the beginning, middle, and end of words.
Blending:
Teach students to blend individual sounds together to form words (e.g., "c-a-t" becomes "cat").
Segmenting:
Practice breaking words into individual sounds (e.g., "cat" becomes "c-a-t").
Manipulatives:
Use letter tiles, magnetic letters, or other manipulatives to help students physically manipulate the sounds and spellings.
