About Emma
My name is Emma Villeneuve - or Miss V as many call me!
I am a newly trained teacher in Ontario.
After completing my Honours Bachelors of Science in Human Kinetics at the University of Ottawa in 2023, I continued my studies to become a teacher abroad - in the United Kingdom. My teaching year abroad has allowed me to complete 120 days of placement in two secondary schools and one primary school. That being said, I have collected a wide range of teaching experiences from teaching all subjects to the younger years to diving deep into complex biology with my oldest year groups.
My teaching specialism is Science with Biology and I have experience teaching this content in my two native languages (French and English).
My education and teaching experiences have allowed me to build my own teaching pedagogy based on reflective and differentiated learning, as well as various assessment strategies to assess proper progress.
I am currently abroad, so I offer online tutoring services, but I will have in person/ at home and virtual sessions starting this summer !

As a newly trained teacher I have gained so many enriching skills which will allow me to deliver an exceptional lesson to you or your child using the most up to date research and teaching strategies. My lessons will be based on differentiation, which means that I will customize my lesson to you and your ability and, my lessons will offer you many formative assessments so that we can assure proper progress against the learning intentions throughout our sessions.My previous research on the importance of metacognition in learning is at the core of my teaching, and thus, will increase your active engagement in the learning experience and deepen your thinking on the concepts and learning completed.
Together, we will work together and reach your learning goals - I am determined and I promise you that my own determination in helping you succeed will empower you to thrive in your learning!
