About Ubah
Hello! I am currently a first year dental student at university. I am well versed in the world of STEM as I constantly do medically related biology, chemistry as well as physics. I am therefore well positioned to provide tutoring up to GCSE for science students. I also have a huge passion for English and provide English Language and Literature lessons.
I am an extremely enthusiastic teacher with 2 years of experience tutoring GCSE students. Having received tutoring throughout my own learning years, I understand the great impact it has on grades and it is an opportunity I want my students to also have. I will produce detailed lesson plans and set goals my students to ensure that they feel ready for their exams in advance.
I specialise in building students' confidence so they are self assured when answering questions, lots of exam practice for Science and English is what will usually help. I encourage students to not only do work within my lessons but in their own time to have that extra bit of practice. My teaching style is mostly visual interpretations of my explanations, I use a lot of examples to ensure my students understand the points I am making. I hold a lot of discussions with my students, to ensure they're not feeling lost during an explanation.
My absolute favourite thing about being a tutor is seeing students who were not confident about a certain topic or subject finally understanding it and becoming more self assured, so they can apply the knowledge on their own in the future.
Additionally, an ultimate teaching philosophy of mine is creating a student centred learning environment. My students need to be totally on board with things before we do them otherwise lessons become less efficient and do not benefit students if they are not completely comfortable.

I have known Ubah for just over two years as a fellow colleague, and working alongside her has been a pleasure. Over these years, I have seen Ubah's enthusiasm for her job and she has always put her students first, before anything else. I started my job a little after her, and since we taught the same subject, she helped me adjust along the way and never failed to share her resources.
