About Mei
Hello, I’m Mei. I teach Japanese in a way that’s practical, fun, and easy to use. Instead of focusing only on textbook phrases, my lessons cover the casual expressions you’ll actually hear and need when visiting Japan — whether you’re ordering ramen, making small talk, or asking for directions. Each lesson is usually around one hour, and I adjust the pace to match your level and goals. I’ve studied languages myself and understand the challenges that come with learning, so I create a supportive space where you can practice confidently. With experience working in both Japan and New Zealand, I bring cultural insights as well as language skills into each class. My lessons are designed for beginners to intermediate learners of all ages who want to connect more naturally with Japanese people and culture. If you’d like to learn useful, everyday Japanese while building confidence step by step, I’d be glad to guide you.
