As a tutor, my approach is student-centered, focusing on individualized learning and interactive engagement. I use a variety of teaching methods and techniques to cater to different learning styles, ensuring each student grasps the material effectively.
A typical lesson plan begins with an introduction and objective setting, providing a brief overview of the day's topic and learning objectives. This is followed by a quick recap of the last lesson to ensure retention and continuity. The main part of the lesson involves a detailed explanation of the new topic using diagrams, examples, and interactive discussions. Guided practice follows, where we solve problems together to apply new concepts, with step-by-step guidance. Students then work on problems independently, with opportunities for questions and clarification. The lesson concludes with a review and feedback session, going over the answers, providing feedback, and discussing any difficulties encountered. Finally, a brief introduction to what will be covered in the next session is provided.
Being a college pre-medicine track allows me to integrate practical, real-world applications of math and science, making lessons more relevant and engaging. I focus not only on academic success but also on building confidence, fostering a love for learning, and developing critical thinking skills. Each lesson is tailored to the individual needs of the student, ensuring personalized attention and targeted learning.
