About Richard
I have always tutored online as well as teaching in schools. I enjoy developing a rapport with students, de-mystifying the curriculum and helping them achieve their aspirations. Lessons are bespoke and respond to the needs of individual students. I consider the student's aspirations, strengths and areas that need improvement. Lessons are structured and student-focused. Depending on requirements, we can focus on content or the demands of examinations. We usually start with a key question to elicit prior knowledge, then a series of short tasks to develop confidence, then an extended writing task. The student is supported with scaffolding and frameworks to support their learning.
