About Joris
I am now a third-year student at the PABO. In the past three years I have gained a lot of experience in giving lessons to children of all ages. At secondary school I followed bilingual education. This has ensured that I have a good command of the English language. At the PABO I was able to delve further into the didactics that lie behind the English subject.

In my opinion, learning a language works best in a situation where communication is central. In a meaningful setting, we look together for a strategy in which your learning capacities are utilized as well as possible. When teaching children, I ensure that my lessons have a character of play. I prefer to speak only English to the pupils, thus creating the need to master the language. My strategy is most in line with the audio linguistic method. Speaking and listening are central here. The language notions and functions to be learned are offered in various subjects in the form of a series of lessons. Every person is different and therefore learns differently, there is no perfect strategy that applies to everyone. For this reason I will have to investigate the needs of each individual, so that I can adjust my teaching offer accordingly.
