About Harry

I'm a student of economics and management at Oxford university, but before university moved to Saint Petersburg to do some volunteer work. I ended up staying for two years, during which time I fell in love with the culture and mastered the language.

About the lesson

My lessons involve lots of role-play and oral practice, as this is the hardest thing to do outside a class setting. Real-life conversations, reading aloud together for pronunciation, etc. I expect the seemingly 'boring' textbook reading and exercises to be done by the student at home, so that we can focus on application in the lessons. Though this may vary depending on whom I teach, because I teach to the needs and wants of my students. I find out what is of greatest interest to them, and then they are willing to work harder when I am helping them reach their own goal.

We used to live together in Russia. He has helped me to improve my Russian a lot! He is a perfect example of a good teacher. He knows all the deep and hard Grammar Principles, but he can fold them out even that a child can understand them.
In his very friendly way it is very easy to connect with him and through that to learn on a level of Friendship.

Harry and I lived together for several months when I first moved to Russia. His passion for the russian language and people is seriously second to none! He was very patient with my language skills but pushed me to be a better speaker every single day! It was amazing to see how personally he could connect with the russian people we served due to his diligence in studying the language. Harry was a great mentor to me and now is an even better friend!
