About Lauren
Hi my name is Lauren. I love learning. I love history and the skills its teaches us. I got my history degree from the University of Bristol. I now teach Year 4, in a school which faces a huge amount of educational disadvantage.
I strongly believe the educational system is failing students and pupils need more educational support than what they are receiving. I want to help pupils realize that they are capable. I love learning and want to help students in any subject I can!

I am very adaptable. I can create lessons at the national curriculum primary level in subjects ranging from math's to English. I am most passionate about subjects that require essay based writing at KS3 and beyond. I secured a first class history dissertation and I am confident I can translate those skills.
Due to my teacher training, I have experience in learning the pedagogy behind teaching. Thus, I am familiar with the methodological discourse into learning and the techniques that work well.
My lessons are typically 45 minutes to an hour long.
I strive to tailor the lesson to each of my students. Although I like to plan my lessons in advance, I also never want a student scared to ask me a question. I'm more than happy to spend more/less time on a subject if its needed or have a discussion about another similar topic. Each tutorial will always begin with a small recap from the previous lesson and lesson practice as repetition is how we learn after all! I often focus on oracy skills as I believe it is the most important in education.
