About Ehsan
I have taught English literature and literary theory, and English to students from diverse academic backgrounds. During the Russian invasion of Afghanistan, I had been teaching English translation and English literature for students from undergraduate and postgraduate levels whilst living as an afghan refugee in Pakistan. I have also tutored literary and cultural theories in the Department of Critical and Cultural Studies at Macquarie University.
In the tutorials I conducted, I have tried to enable students to make the key theoretical concepts simple and, subsequently, to use them as tools in their reading of literary texts and analytical thinking. I have always encouraged students to engage directly in the textual operation of literature and creatively explore and critically examine the textual, inter-textual, subjective, socio-historical, and political dimensions of scores of textual writings.
Within the Department of Critical and Cultural Studies, I have worked with students to extend their classroom discussions to the international online debates of the concerned literary, critical, and intellectual cross-fertilization. I have always endeavored to engage in reading texts with students. These courses involved a combination of face-to-face teaching sessions and flexible online delivery. In the course of my teaching experiences, I have learned to work with students from diverse backgrounds and to be sensitive to the different needs that students may have.
