About Sam
I am a Stanford and Harvard trained economics professor teaching at Harvard Kennedy School (previously at Boston College), currently focusing on tutoring and writing a textbook. I pride myself on helping students build a deep understanding of core economics and statistics concepts, with a proven track record of improving students' confidence and grades.
My college-level teaching includes microeconomics at every level (intro up to PhD), principles of macroeconomics, health economics, and game theory. I am also very comfortable tutoring statistics, econometrics, and upper-level or graduate macroeconomics, as well as applied economics fields like managerial economics, environmental economics, labor economics, behavioral economics, experimental economics, and public economics. I have extensive experience using Stata, SAS, and Excel, and am comfortable with R, SPSS, and jamovi. Finally, I am familiar with both the AP and IB economics curricula and am confident tutoring students in high school as well as college and graduate school. I would love to work with you to create an individualized learning plan, help you overcome any obstacles to your learning, and impart some of the joy I find in these subjects.
